About Our Company
Margolin Lowenstein & Company, a certified public accounting firm, was founded by Martin Margolin in January 1969. The firm was initially established to support individuals and small businesses with sound financial guidance and due professional care – a mantra which holds true to this day!
Lawrence “Larry” Ceasar, who joined the firm at that time as a staff accountant, became Martin’s partner in January 1978. The two remained partners until Alvin Smilow, a Senior Manager with the firm since 1985, was offered a partnership stake in January 1991. The three partners worked tirelessly, building a reputation for service excellence in the local accounting marketplace.
Martin passed away in April 2002, and Ceasar & Smilow became the firm as you know it today. Both Larry and Alvin grew the practice by establishing trust and building strong long-term relationships.
Their client-centric approach placed the client’s needs, goals, and long-term success at the center of every interaction. Their services went beyond delivering statutory tax returns, it was about understanding each client’s financial situation holistically and providing thoughtful practical solutions that align with their unique circumstances.
In September 2024, the firm suffered an additional loss with the passing of Larry Ceasar. We not only lost a dear friend, but a true professional who made lasting contributions to the firm.
Now celebrating its 57th year with renewed vision and reaffirming its commitment to service excellence, Ceasar & Smilow continues to be trusted advisors and advocates for our clients, providing expertise in strategic business planning, financial accounting, tax compliance, and advisory services.
